As always I will be there at 10 a.m. if Terry is not doing an event. So until we hear from Terry just expect at least me to be there. Bill has already expressed an interest in playing some more as well.
I will bring Soviets and Germans this time, in case players show up and want to play.
I only played a single game with Bill last week. As we were going over our moves and the mechanics of the game with two new players. Bill really worked me over and won the game of Hold the Line we played.
Then him and Richard played a game of FFA. They made a lot of newbie mistakes, didn't read the actual mission rules from the hardback book. They have changed dramatically since version 1.
First the person who moves first in FFA, counts as having moved so cannot fire bombardments or call for air on their first turn. Plus cannot be considered concealed or GTG in the opponents first turn.
So right off the bat, they started the game wrong and Bill lost all of his jeeps for his M10's to a bombardment.
Second, FFA is supposed to be played wide side to wide side, so that each player has to spread his force out on the 6' wide table. They setup on a 4' wide table and then tried to attack each other down the narrow part of the table.
This allowed both of them to concentrate all of their firepower into a very narrow corridor. They also used very little terrain that could block line of sight. So every weapon with any range was deadly over the entire board.
So next time I think they will play a quite different game.
I learned that Armored cars are pretty much useless. I also learned that if your opponent fields 4 AA guns with rof 4, then your air power is also almost worthless. My 165 points in priority ME109's killed a single M7 priest. He shot down 8 out of 10 planes, including shooting down some of those with self defense .50's a couple of times.
So a good time was had last Sunday and hopefully this Sunday we will have just as much fun.

Evan, is Jeremiah going to get out of FoW and if he is what is he going to do with all of his Americans?

Nothing wrong with his Americans for a first try. Besides it is nothing that a soak in boiling water and a toothbrush won't fix.
The point is, will he keep playing?

All,
I should be there this Sunday with my American force standing tall. I am ready to play ABN (proxy US Mech figures) with mortars or my standard Mech/Armor force.

Chris,
I will be on site @0950hrs. It looks like Eric (brother-in-law) will be there as well (85% chance). I will bring all of my toys out so he can jump on an American Armor force. If you would prefer him to play something else, let me know.
Bill

Sorry All, my back is acting up and I cannot drive and probably cannot play for fear of worsening my back. So I cannot be there today.
Hopefully Thursday or Friday this coming week.
