This is what I wrote on my forum about my games on FOW_Washington.
Game 1, Sean vs. American Infantry in Free for All. 6:1 victory.
My air came down and quickly destroyed the platoon command tank for the Sherman’s and immobilized the whole platoon. My medium mortars kept three other platoons pinned while I rushed into the middle of the board with the halftracks and the tanks of Italy and took the objective. My opponent deployed his platoons too far from the objectives while his plan to take my objective would have taken 10 turns! Thus I guarded my objectives with only an observer. Good placement of my objectives 5" from available cover helped as well.
Game 2, Sean vs. German Grenadierkompanie in Meeting Engagement. 3:2 tie.
Again I did nothing to defend my objectives. I moved my halftracks at the double two turns in a row. Combined with the Italian tanks I was able to contest the objective, but he had two full platoons of infantry only 6" away and kept moving a guy up to contest it. He also shot down probably 8 planes. Finally I decided to go for the second objective only guarded by AA platoon and arty, destroying both platoons but my move was a turn too late and game was called on time. My initial deployment was poor, being way too far from were I intended to attack and my placement of one of the objectives was not as well thought out as the first game. My opponent was very careful and deliberate with every move he made.
Game 3, Sean vs. Soviet Tankovaya, Fighting Withdrawal, 3:4 loss.
I was the defender in this one. He did exactly what was necessary, quickly moved all his tanks close. My air wreaked havoc taking out several KV1s, SU85, and SU122s, but it wasn’t enough. The Marders and heavy armoured cars finished off the KV and SU85 platoon. The Italian tanks fought valiantly, but only bailed a single t-34 from the rear and were very nearly annihilated. One turn before I could pull an objective my mortars were too far away after an assault to contest the objective and he won at the beginning of the 6th turn. He played swimmingly and proved Soviet tanks rock! But now that I think of it, my air came in on turn 5 but I gave up at this point. If the air destroyed the two SU122 holding the objective, the KV1s that was on the other side of the objective could not have taken it because he was an independent team (CC). Is that right? Oh well, the game was fun nonetheless.
