Hello I am just getting into Flames of war and am thinking of starting an army like this www.battlefront.co.nz/...icleID=178
but maby adding another company of BA-10s etc. and also if this would be a good starting army scince I am really set on an all tank army and have played with a GW tank company and know how to use tanks and such. note: I have no source books or even the rule book and only know some rules.

I just returned from the southwest tourny where I played a russian tank army. It is a very good army if you are rolling the dice well. I took second in the tourny, lost to US Mech, which I think is the best force out there right now. If my air in one game hadn't knocked out 2 panthers, I am sure I wouldn't have finished so high. Limitations, Hens and chicks, Russian tanks can only move 6 inches if they still wish to fire. Must be within 2 inches of each other, very close for air attack or artillery strike. They are conscripts, that means everything hits them, start at a 2 plus on a 6 sided dice. I used BA10s in a Kursk Battle we did before the tourny. The 45mm gun is nice, but they are classed wheeled, so off road they move very slow. There are not many roads in russia. The 152s, only get 1 shot. So if you are dueling Tigers, you have one turn to hit because the next turn you are dead. Russians are good, you just need to understand there limitations. Write if you have any other questions. Terry

You ever want to have a game, just let me know. The new rules V2, as they are calling it, is a different game. You will find artillery can kill any tank out there so you can't just sit back and allow continual artillery fire to fall on your armor. Terry
