TI:3 is one of my favorite games, but I don't get much chance to play it. It's long (3 to 5 hours) and it's best with 6 players. But it's great fun, the best 4x board game around (explore, expand, exploit, exterminate). You build a space empire, develop technologies, explore planets, and attack your foes.

Is anyone interested in playing it with me? I work nights so I'm available during the days and on the weekends. Post if you're interested. Here's a picture of a 4 player game in action:

I ran into Jay at Merlyn's today and we arranged to meet on Monday at 11am to play some TI:3. He's hasn't played 3rd Edition so it'll be a teaching game for all intents and purposes, so post here and come down on Monday if you'd like to join us.

Just wanted to mention that I just recently located my 2nd edition box set and will have it sent up here from California soon. There are subtle differences in the game mechanics and turn play. As well as major differences in the victory conditions. If anyone is interested in playing the lil more old school version, please let me know.
