The other night, I played a British First Army Force against US Mech. A very interesting game. You look out on the board and US Mech are really impressive, but they have there weaknessses in range and distance fire power. The British force was a defensive infantry, antitank force. Concealed, gone to ground and entrenched made them very hard to take on. The British 6 pounder is a small gun and conceals in the open. ROF of 3 gave them real fire power against M3s. Shermans were kept at bay by a supporting 17 pound battery. The eventual assault came in a rush of halftracks. They were banking on destroying and assaulting the AT guns and there support . In a hail of fire, the US shooting let them down, the assault was pinned down and the following turn left a trail of burning halftracks and dead US infantry. British entrenched are very tough, piat support and ROF of 2 makes them a hard target.
