The new DC Adventures RPG, utilizing the mechanics of the newest edition of Mutants and Masterminds, is not new, but with the third book recently being released, we thought this would be a great time to talk about it.

Arrow Book 1 is the DC Adventures Hero's Handbook.
This is your core rulebook for the game. You don't need the current Mutants & Masterminds rulebook to play (although that would probably make for an excellent supplement).

What powers will your hero have? Flight costs 2 points per rank, but shrinking and speed cost only 1 point per rank. Remember, skills and advantages aren't the same as powers, so save some points for those. You wouldn't want to miss out on skills like Insight, Persuasion, or Technology or advantages like Animal Empathy, Sidekick, Ritualist, or Chokehold. When you get your character and get into the game, you'll want to remember the following formula for when things get out of hand:

ATTACK CHECK = D20 + ATTACK BONUS VS. DEFENSE CLASS

Arrow Books 2 and 3 are the Heroes & Villains Handbooks
These books are an exhaustive compilation of DC comics characters featuring well-known characters like Superman, the Penguin, Darkseid, and Swamp Thing, as well as many more obscure characters like Traci Thirteen, Elasti-Woman, Obsidian, and Congorilla.

Aquaman, for example, is a power level 12 character with an Aquatic power set (includes Immunity 3, Movement 1, and Senses 1, all specialized for his particular environment) and Summon Marine Life rank 8 with the Horde, Mental Link, Multiple Minions, and Variable General Type extras.

Jonah Hex, although without proper super-powers, has a list of abilities, skills, and advantages to justify his reputation as one of the DCUniverse's greatest gunslingers. Quick Draw, Seize Initiative, Diehard, Improved Critical 2 (guns), Language: Apache, Intimidation 6, and Expertise: Scouting 7 are amongst the statistics used by the character in this game.

Who's the strongest?

Penguin and Star Sapphire have Str 0

Prankster and Batgirl have Str 1

Batman has Str 4

Deathstroke and Bane have Str 7

Gorilla Grodd has Str 9

Killer Croc and Aquaman have Str 10.

Superboy and Supergirl have STR 15

Giganta has Str 16

Solomon Grundy, Darkseid, and Chemo have Str 18

Superman and Captain Marvel have Str 19

Doomsday has Str 20

Arrow Come check out these books. We currently have all three in stock.
