AVENGERS vs. X-MEN is Marvels big crossover that will play out in about every single book they have.




Here's the breakdown:

A Nova Corps member named Sam Alexander arrives on the home planet of Terrax, with a warning, but before he could warn everyone, Terrax engages him in battle. The battle however is soon interrupted by the arrival of the threat the Nova Centurion came to warn about.
Terrax is seemingly destroyed as the Nova centurion managed to leave the planet before it is consumed by none other than the Phoenix.

* for those who remember, Jean Grey turned into Phoenix.
** for those that might not know comics, Jean Grey turned into Phoenix in X-MEN 3

The Nova centurion resumes his mission and began his traveling to the next planet where the Phoenix is coming,

Earth.


Cable (presumed dead after the Second Coming event) returns from a desolated future after having been informed by Blaquesmith that the Avengers are somehow responsible for the death of Hope Summers (Cable's daughter) and the terrible future.
To prevent Hope's death, Cable devises a plan to take down the Avengers one by one before they can harm her. Cable attracts the attention of the Avengers by shooting down a prison transport plane. As the Avengers round up the escaping prisoners, Cable kidnaps Falcon. Knowing Captain America would follow Falcon's pet Redwing to his location, Cable ambushes Captain America and places him in restraints next to Falcon.
Next Cable takes down Iron Man using technology taken from a future suit of Iron Man's armor. Red Hulk surprises Cable but Cable narrowly defeats him by spreading the techno-organic virus, that he is infected, into the Red Hulk's system.
Blaquesmith, believing Cable has gone too far, brings in Cyclops and Hope in order to stop him. Hope and Cyclops plead with Cable to release the Avengers but are interrupted by the arrival of Wolverine and Spider-Man.
While Cable is distracted fighting Wolverine and Spider-man, Blaquesmith guides Hope to free the captured Avengers, as the Red Hulk burns the techno-organic virus out of his body. Cable succumbs to the combined efforts of the Avengers and his own infection of the techno-organic virus.

Later back on Utopia, Blaquesmith tells Hope that she can still save Cable by absorbing the techno-organic virus with the Phoenix Force. Once healed, Cable informs Cyclops that Hope is indeed the Phoenix, war will come with the Avengers and that he needs his help to protect Hope.


So, the question is:

WHO WILL YOU STAND WITH?
The Avengers to stop Phoenix or the X-Men to help her?

Captain America will be on hand from 5 - 7pm to give out Avengers candy taffy to the kids and we'll have a Heroclix play area with Avengers and X-Men figures.
