Pathfinder's well-crafted game setting takes place on the world of Golarion. The great majority of adventures paths, modules, and products have thus far been focused, though on just one part of that world, the Inner Sea Region. Reading Pathfinder's Inner Sea World Guide, it doesn't take long to realize that the nations and cultures represented in that region are analogies to important parts of our real world. The Inner Sea Region is roughly analgous to the Mediterranean Region, which touches on Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

The World of Golarion, though, is much bigger than just that region. Well beyond that lies Tian-Xia, the Dragon Empires. These are the lands of Pathfinder's game world that are analagous to the great cultures of Eastern Asia. Tian Xia is a huge continent with loads of great adventuring potential that is featured in a number of different products sold by Paizo.

Arrow The most prominent of these is the adventure path series of adventures known as The Jade Regent. The 6-part series takes Pathfinder characters from the familiar Inner Sea Region on a journey North to, and then across the Crown of the World to their destination in Tian Xia where they must face down the tyranny of the Jade Regent, with many challenges to face along the way.

Arrow Also available is the Dragon Empires Primer. This book gives an overview of Tian Xia's nations, rules for prominent races (including kitsune, nagaji, and tengu), new archetypes, feats, gods, philosophies, sorcerer bloodlines and a system for maintaining Honor in the Dragon Empires.

Arrow The Dragon Empires Gazeteer fills in a lot of the blanks regarding the more than two dozen nations and regions of Tian Xia.

If you're looking to spice up your Pathfinder campaign, there's another side to the game world you're already playing in.
