Issue two of Dark Axis just hit the shelves, and I am loving it! This book is pretty standard WW2 Nazi-Supernatural (Supernaziral?) horror, following a very human and fairly engaging squad of rookie American soldiers led by a jaded veteran as they explore a secret underground Nazi facility, complete with monsters and treasure. In the second issue, we meet Dr. Eisler, the cackling mad genius behind the abominations. This is a story we've seen a hundred times before, but I'm still ready to sink my teeth into 101!

The real value of this book, however, is in the OSS secret files found in the back of each issue. The grainy photographs, sketches, and bloodstains create a tone and background for the story far more compelling than anything done on the storyboard.

Even better, Diezel Punk has announced that after the current four-issue miniseries, Rise of the Overmen, Dark Axis will be continuing for another five miniseries, covering the dark secrets of every theater of the WW2 conflict!
