On that I couldn't agree more. In my game group we find ourselves using our old modules from 1E and converting them to 3.5. Back then the story was written first, THEN they made the module around it. I think it made for better feeling products.

I6 "Ravenloft" is my personal favorite of all time. Great story, fun module. The combat issues came second, and that was a good thing.
