Hey all,
I've been back in Spokane for over a year now. I meant to get down to one of Spectors games but other things in my life kept me from doing so.
I've been itching to get back playing with other people. I've been playing my own mercenary campaign using MegaMek, but I don't expect anyone to continue on with what I've been doing.
I'd love to be the GM/Opfor for anyone that wants to start up a Merc campaign, or any other campaign for that matter.
The one thing I will note is that I'm kind of a stickler for canon. So don't expect your CapCon warrior to have access to a MadCat during the Clan Invasion unless you can REALLY justify it.

Check the forums at ClassicBattletech.com under the challenges and gatherings section, you may be pleasantly surprised.

I heard from John that some people are playing Battletech again. I've heard Lee Agee is back into the game. Anybody know when they play or how to get in contact with them?

Howdy, new to the forum, but I may be one of the guys you heard of playing CBT at Merlyn's on sunday nights. It is an introductory campaign with myself running it and 1-2 players at the moment (depends on who can show up), but I may be interested in more players.
Basically, we are playing the way that myself and some others played back in the 80's-90's, where you start with one, randomly rolled mech, and everyone is on a planet together and starts to function as either a mercenary unit or in a loose coalition until people get powerful enough to found their own units. There are contracts for each mission, with salaries and salvage rights being negotiable with the hiring authorities, and then what is left on the field at the end of a scenario/battle is what you get to choose from. You have to maintain your own books that reflect the repairs and purchases/sales you make on the open and black markets, and if you hire additional pilots/crews for anything you take on the field, you must pay them as well (whether part of your contract or not, if you want to keep them working for you). Skills improve by progression/use and I do not write scenarios to be easy, but they are all attainable, so join at your own risk. If you want to field something you capture/salvage, you can borrow a mini for the first couple of times you use it, but after a bit, you will be expected to come up with your own, as I may need to use that mini again as an OPFOR or NPC.

Oh, and before you ask; I do try to stick to the rules in the old Compendium at the moment, although I am introducing new rules and equipment as we go, but I have been out of the game for so long I am re-learning many of the rules while we play, so if you know something better then I do, I encourage you to correct me, but wait until after that nights game, as there may be ulterior reasons for what I have done.

that actually sounds like a ton of fun teppudama. what is the time frame exactly and is it just going to be on sunday night? what kind of mechs can we start with and is there a specific way we would need to paint them? do we need our own rule books? it is has been geeze 15 plus years since i played CBT. lol. really rusty.

Time frame is current, post Jihad, but on a planet that has been seriously hit in the path of things before and is somewhat off the beaten path, as far as current campaigns in the actual timeline are showing.
I randomly roll for each players mech, so if you are interested, I would roll one tonight for you to know what to bring. All players are starting at Gunnery-5, Piloting-4, for this campaign, but skills improve through use. I posted this in the CBT forum as well, when I found the appropriate thread for games in this area, and I am on Battletech Universe as well and will be posting info on their too.
If you want to play, remember to bring a notebook that you can dedicate to what you will be doing in this game, as personal player records are key to some of the later play, once people start to amass some wealth or start building units.

This hasn't been added to in forever it seems, but I am new to the area and would welcome the chance to get down and play some Battletech. If anyone bothers to read this, contact me on here and we can discuss the terms. Getting a whole group for some missions would be amazing.

Tried to pm you, kilokahn, but the message system seems to be broken.
Drop me a line @ wind.ward0 at gmail dot com, maybe we can work something out.
