All right, I've been goofing around with this for a little bit and I thought I'd share. There's an open source project that manages a League Website for you. It's a little ... um... sparse? However, I think it might be fun to try and get it working for us.

Right now, I have very little idea how everyone is doing, who's beating whom, how many SPPs I need to get the MVP, etc, etc, so I want a nice place to check all that out. The BB League Manager has all that, but it would require us to keep everything updated. That might be too tall an order for us, but maybe we can pull it off. There's a few other issues that pop up (free skill for one and the new rule set) that make it less than ideal, but I think it will server our purposes pretty well.

Check it out, read the news, and enter your starting roster! If you can't access it, let me know here and I'll see what's up. Likely my computer went down or my IP address changed. If this website gets to be useful I'll look into hosting it somewhere else, but for now, on my computer is probably fine.

If you think this is lame, cool, not worth the effort, totally awesome, let me know by posting here. If only a few people don't want to participate (or lack access), I'll keep their teams updated for them. If the majority thinks it's not worth it, I'll take it out back and shoot it.

I found out that it's not working on my wife's laptop, so I'll be able to test if my changes made any dif. I'll let you know if I figure out anything.

Those look pretty cool, maybe if nothing else we may be able to talk to john about merlyns hosting it on this website.

The reason you can't access it is because a 192.168.x.x address is internal network only, which means it's not a valid public internet address.

If John wants to get this running I'm pretty sure I'd be the one doing it. We may also be able to create something like that in our existing webspace, It doesn't look too hard.

Damn you Ghostwheel, were where you 4 hours ago when I was working on this and couldn't figure it out for the life of me? You were posting the exact same conclusion I would come to four hours worth of messing with apache's httpd.conf file later? Oh.

Here's a link to the sourceforge page for BB Web Manager. In order to run it, you need a webpage host that supports php and mySQL. Judging by the fact that this forum is hosted there, I think we're probably a-okay, huh?

EDIT: I realize that it probably still doesn't work because it's still 192.168.xxx.xxx. Oh well. Any way around that? If it does end up getting hosted here, let me know and maybe I can help get it set up, I'm free mornings and early afternoons.

if you go to a site like whatismyip.com & find out your public ip,
you should be able to set one computer as the DMZ in your router, which means it allows external connections to it.

I think the manager program would be awesome, and it looks pretty cool from the two sites he linked.

Thanks for the help, Ghost. I've got my external IP and I found an extremely helpful site for Port Forwarding (which seems like the thing to try before DMZ) here but I've run into a roadblock in that I don't know my router's password. My bro in law set it up and his handwriting is atrocious. And he's in Australia so I can't ask him easily. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have it figured out.

Once again! Instead of trying to host it on my computer I found a place that will host it for me. I didn't think I could find a place that offered php and mySQL was free and didn't have banner ads. I was wrong! www.awardspace.com is pretty impressive. It's up and running there:
