It's already August, and I realized I haven't yet devoted a thread to the next Heroclix set, Superman, which comes out on September 28th.

Arrow Yes, we will be having an opening day booster draft. As usual, it will be a single-booster draft format, with each player playing with what they get at the end of the draft, regardless of points.

Arrow This set will include Superman characters and subthemes devoted to the Legion of Super-Heroes, Flashpoint, and characters from World of New Krypton, Reign of the Supermen, and All-Star Superman.

Arrow One interesting mechanic in this game will be the inclusion of multiple starting lines on high-powered characters to give players more than one option on how much that character costs to bring into the game. Two characters with this mechanic have been previewed thus far, Superman and Black Adam. Superman (#001) can be played at either 300 points or 150. Black Adam (#054) can be played at 300, 200, or 100 points, with a different starting line on the same dial for each one.

Arrow NEW BASES! One complaint about the various clix games over the years has been occasional difficulty with turning the bases. A new base design will make its debut into the big company comic book Heroclix sets in Superman. If you want a look at how these work, we have a display box of the Wizkids Star Trek board game, Expeditions, which utilizes the Oreo bases. I can tell you that they are excellent and no one will have trouble turning these. Ask us and we will be happy to show you what they look like.

Arrow SETLIST!
As of this posting, 8/1/11, here are the pieces we absolutely know are in the set...

1. Superman (#001)
2. Lex Luthor (#015)
3. Magog (#019)
4. Sun Boy (#021)
5. Matter-Eater Lad (#024)
6. Non (#031)
7. Wildfire (#039)
8. Ursa (#044)
9. Flash (#047)
10. The Queen of Fables (#049)
11. Imperiex (#050)
12. Darkseid (#052)
13. General Zod (#053)
14. Black Adam (#054)
15. Bizarro
16. Commander El (Kal-El working for the New Kryptonian military)
17. Cyborg Superman
18. Lobo (w/his Dawg!)
19. Lois Lane w/Superman's powers (probably from All-Star Superman #3)
20. Eradicator
21. Starman
22. The Parasite
23. Superboy (Reign of Supermen costume)
24. Superman (Batman Beyond version)
25. Superman (Son of Darkseid version)

If #54 is the last piece, which I believe it is, then there are currently 29 figures unknown, not counting LEs and potential chase figures.

Feel free to post in this thread if you have any questions about the Superman set or about Heroclix, in general.

Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you - the Black Adam figure in this set was designed, both sculpt and dial, by the 2010 Heroclix World Champion, George Massu. George elected to have himself put onto the sculpt along with Black Adam. This is the computer-generated image from which they are making the sculpt...

If you want to read the interview with George about the making of this piece, follow this link to Wizkids Heroclix site...

heroclix.com/heroclix/...lack-adam/

If this is of interest to you, it might also be worth following the happenings at this year's Gencon, Aug. 4-7. It is there the 2011 Heroclix World Championships will be taking place. The winner gets the same deal as George Massu got - the choice of a character to be made in a future set, as well as the opportunity to help design his dial and sculpt.

Question Who would you choose?

GenCon 2011 brought us a bunch of news about the Superman set, so I thought I would update that setlist from a couple of days ago.

1. Superman (#001)
2. Kryptonian Soldier (#002)
3. Kryptonian Infiltrator (#003)
4. All-Star Bizarro (#006)
5. Starman (#007)
6. Supergirl (#010)
7. Lex Luthor (#015)
8. Steel (#018)
9. Magog (#019)
10. Sun Boy (#021)
11. Invisible Kid (#024)
12. Matter-Eater Lad (#024)
13. Parasite (#027)
14. Silver Banshee (#029)
15. Non (#031)
16. Cyborg Superman (#034)
17. Libra (#037)
18. Wildfire (#039)
19. Lobo w/Dawg (#042)
20. Ursa (#044)
21. Flash (#047)
22. The Queen of Fables (#049)
23. Imperiex (#050)
24. Swamp Thing (#051)
25. Darkseid (#052)
26. General Zod (#053)
27. Black Adam (#054)
28. Wonder Woman - Flashpoint version(#055)

29. Commander El (Kal-El working for the New Kryptonian military)
30. Lois Lane w/Superman's powers (probably from All-Star Superman #3)
31. Eradicator
32. Superboy (Reign of Supermen costume)
33. Superman (Batman Beyond version)
34. Superman (Son of Darkseid version)
35. Superman (Flashpoint version)
36. Batman (Likely will be the Flashpoint version)
37. Doomsday

- Looks like I was wrong about #54 being the last piece. Wonder Woman is #55, so there has to be at least that many.

- Yeah, I know there are two different pieces listed as being #24 for the set. One of them is obviously wrong. At this time, we don't know which, but both of them have been reported as being #024.

- Also, the winner of GenCon 2011 was Dan Joynes. He has indicated he is interested in helping design a new version of Mr. Sinister for a future Marvel set.

There have been lots of previews for the Superman set since I last updated this, so I thought I'd redo the list, putting items in the right place as their set number is revealed.

As with all of my Heroclix threads, I should note that my source is HCRealms.com, specifically the very excellent thread by Suttkus. If you want to get your info direct from there, follow this link...

www.hcrealms.com/forum...p?t=308286

1. Superman (#001)
2. Kryptonian Soldier (#002)
3. Kryptonian Infiltrator (#003)
4. Seven Deadly Brothers (#005)
5. All-Star Bizarro (#006)
6. Star Boy (#007)
7. Braniac 5 (#008)
8. Lois Lane, Superwoman (#009)
9. Supergirl (#010)
10. Livewire (#012)
11. Maxwell Lord - Brightest Day (#013)
12. Lex Luthor (#015)
13. Steel (#018)
14. Magog (#019)
15. Sun Boy (#021)
16. Earth Man (#023)
17. Invisible Kid (#024)
18. Matter-Eater Lad (#025)
19. Lucy Lane, Superwoman (#026)
20. Parasite (#027)
21. Silver Banshee (#029)
22. Non (#031)
23. Eradicator (#033)
24. Cyborg Superman (#034)
25. Magog (#035)
26. Composite Superman (#036)
28. Libra (#037)
29. Princess Projectra (#038)
30. Wildfire (#039)
31. Maxwell Lord - Blackest Night (#040)
32. Starman (Thom Kallor - #041)
33. Lobo w/Dawg (#042)
34. Doomsday (#043)
35. Ursa (#044)
36. Flash (#047)
37. The Queen of Fables (#049)
38. Imperiex (#050)
39. Swamp Thing (#051)
40. Darkseid (#052)
41. General Zod (#053)
42. Black Adam (#054)
43. Wonder Woman - Flashpoint version(#055)

44. Commander El (Kal-El working for the New Kryptonian military)
45. Superboy (Reign of Supermen costume)
46. Superman (Batman Beyond version)
47. Superman (Son of Darkseid version)
48. Superman (Flashpoint version)
49. Batman (Likely will be the Flashpoint version)

Arrow Yes, there are two Maxwell Lords on that list and two Magogs. That is not an error. There are two of each of those characters in the set.

Arrow If Wonder Woman is the final piece, that means there are 55 total in the basic set. Since we already know 49 of them, then there are only 6 more surprises left. Who's it going to be? Jimmy Olsen? Mr. Mxyzptlk? Ferro Lad? Flashpoint Deathstroke?

Arrow Remember: we are having a single booster draft on Wednesday, September 28, the release day for this set, at 5:00 pm at Merlyn's. Come on in and join us for a fun, new-player-friendly environment, with plenty of prizes to go around.
