COMIC EVENT: Artist Meet-up : Brain Storming!

Yes, brainstorming. No it's not a new character. Razz

I'd like to get a few people together before the end of the year and the total crazy holiday season. This meet up is to try and get artists together. Share ideas and see work. If you partcipated in the 24 hour comic event here at merlyn's please bring down what you got done. We can have a peek and maybe make a copy.

If you did not come down, we'll look forward to seeing you next year; and would like anyone who is interested in comics and comic art to meet. Yes, we'd like to get aquainted with you.

The purpose is to get some input about making next year's event even better. We'll also discuss a monthly or bi-monthly art event here at merlyns. Maybe we can put on some kind of workshop or ask someone to demonstrate technique. If anybody out there knows or is an art instructor please spread the word. Friends, students, comic enthusiast and the like is whom we are aiming these events towards.

When is it? I was looking at the calendar and it seems like SUNDAY NOVEMBER 23 looks good. Sunday means no parking meters. Mr. Green

I was thinking either noon to 4. Maybe 2 to 6 would be good as well. This first meet up probably won't take that long but if we block out that time frame we can keep the meeting open so people can still make it. Yes late is truly better than never. Very Happy

Please leave me some input on what works for everyone. I hope this works out, maybe next year my comic will have art as well as thought bubbles. I do really like the bubbles.

Sunday afternoons sound good. If it ends up being twice a month, maybe having the two meetings at different times/on different days might be good - so if someone can't make it to one, they might be able to make it to the other. Just a thought.

Thanks for getting this going and off the ground! I really love the idea of a regular artist meet-up - thanks for giving us a place to get together! Smile

I'd be able to meet the 23rd, after 2:30(when I get off work). I have a funky schedule, so I am for having a twice a month meet up on two different days, making it possible for people to meet at one or both depending on work for everyone.

Also, I wouldn't mind teaching some acrylic painting techniques.

Tried to get more organized in this new year. I had planned to post meet-up in the paper but my computer decided to commit suicide. Death by power scource; and madness of mother board. Great Twisted Evil

No need too, John knows we'll be there. Racheal always makes sure we have atleast 2 tables when she organizes the meetings. Meetings start at 3:00pm (because Jesse doesn't get off work until 2:30) and some times goes to 5 or 6. Smile
