Yep...2 actually. Space Marines & Eldar. I prefer the Eldar. Haven't played since I moved from Colorado a year ago. I'd be interested in playing some games of Epic with you. Let me know when you'd want to try a game, and I'll see if it fits in my schedule. I see this post was put here a while ago. I just registered. Hope that explains the delay.

I acquired a space marine army for epic a long time ago. I could never get an Epic 40k rulebook so I never learned the rules. I'd be interested if someone had a day for it or something.

Guys,
I'd love to set up a game, and I'm willing to show you the rules. As I said above, I have 2 armies, so you don't need anything to give it a try. Weekends are when I'd prefer to give it a go, but I might consider playing after work on a weekday. Let me know what you think. The private message thing doesn't seem to be working, so both of you can email me at robb-escue @ msn.com

To anyone on Spokane who is looking to sell their epic stuff... read on to the bottom...
That said.
Epic is the best Idea that GW ever made a complete hash of.
1st edition was pure awesome. If they'd have just taken the time to support it and push it (get some people in the stores to teach it to people) it would have taken off and become a first line product for them.
2nd edition, and 3rd edition rules pretty much are blah and watered down.
If you can track it down, use 1st edition rules.
Lotsa chrome and if you're smart you add in all the stuff for knights (especially for eldar... hoo boy especially the knights that the rules listed as being armed with pulse lasers (Bright Stallions). Get a line of those out there and hit the enemy in the flank with overlapping fields of fire and the effects are amazing)
Here's what a review said about the rules though.

A bit about the history of the game:
First came ADEPTUS TITANICUS
This was a game about giant, crewed humanoid robots fighting in a city. Much detail - you could customise each Titan to a great degree.
Then came SPACE MARINE (1st ed)
Which added infantry, tanks and artillery. Each 5-man infantry squad had multiple weapons, firing multiple times. Very complex, lots of chrome.
Next was SPACE MARINE (2nd ed)
This removed a lot of the complexity from the basic rules. Now, each infantry stand only rolled once to hit, and at most once to penetrate armour. A neat, simple system. Added to this were a vast (and growing) quantity of exceptional rules - so many different vehicles or weapons, with similar overall effects, used different mechanisms to get that effect. Still, a popular system.

the less said about 3rd edition the better.
the new epic is a complete rewrite and is good.
That said...
When I lived in spokane I hunted for epic players for a while... found noone interested.
Now living in Seattle... I'm looking to BUY epic
So if you're a frustrated epic player with epic on hand you are interested in parting with, let me know.

I have three large armies -- about 12,000 points of Orks, 7,000 points of Marines, and another 12,000 points of Imperial Guard. I also have five Warlord Titans and three Mega-Gargants, including one I built myself:
I've also been working on some basic terrain:
... as well as some Imperial ruins, using the cool ruins sprues from GW.
Sadly, I have never played using the new rules. I started getting back into gaming three years ago after a 10+ year hiatus, so I've been focusing on buying and painting. (Speaking of which, if anyone has a copy of Space Hulk to sell...)
Luckily, though, I have enough Epic stuff that I could furnish armies to people wanting to try out the new rules. We should really get a game on sometime soon!
Also, if you're interesting in non-GW 6mm sci-fi, I have some sizable armies built up for Dirtside. We could give that a run.
Thanks,
Andreas

Awsome Mega Gargant. My forces tremble as we have no titans in the armoury. I would be willing to try all the versions to find the best, but I only have a copy of the new version, and several copies of the boxed Epic 40000. I bought a couple of these boxes in full a few years back to get the terrain sprues and of course load up on Marines. Sundays and Mondays are my only days in the week that are really available to even atempt to get a game in.
