Why not shoot the hummels and smoke with the mortars? Thats more points effective than smoking with a 300 point unit. There is never time when shooting AT 5 FP +2 artillery is as important as smoking. NEVER! EVER EVER! Got it? Im right... always right. Never wrong.

hey chris what do you think of this list
panzer grens
company comand 45+ panzernacker 5 =50
2 panzergren platoons with half tracks 285 + panzernacker 5 =290 per platoon
1 hmg moterized platoon 165
Tank platoon 270
2 panzer III m's 25 per tank
1 panzer IV h 75 per tank
1 platoon of hummels 305
grand total 1495 i think
please give any ideas about the list |
I would recomend dropping the HMGs and putting the poitns into your tanks. Against a moderate tank force you would really struggle with out somthing to seriously deter him. That way you can spend more time shooting him with your Hummels.

I always tank medium mortars with my forces. Heavy artillery doesnt seem to pay for itself when 75% of the time a medium mortar is equally as effective.
Another good replacement for the HMGs is a medium mortar platoon. But your lack of tanks forces you to be extra extra careful.
But you also have a really fun army to play.

Usually Sunday, this week we played on Tuesday. I am going to probably be unable to meet and play for 4-6 weeks as we move. It looks 90% certain. I was ironing out language in the paperwork today and sent the changes in for approval. If that comes back then no playing FoW for me for at least a month, maybe more.

FOW Gamers,
Bill Noland (US) and Ben Kear(Italian) will be on site Friday @ 1000 hrs playing small skirmishes at 600pts. If anyone is interested, feel free to drop in or give me (Bill) a call at 710-4918. The sizes of engagements will change as more people show up. Until then...

Bill,
I will try to make it. I will work hard on packing. A small hiccup has happened as my little sister is coming into town Thursday or Friday and I will need to be around to meet her.
Hope I get to make it.

The Italians are here. Avanti Savoia!
I have finally received a majority of the stuff I was waiting for to finish my Italian Bersag and Motociclisti from BF as credit for my work. I have a few more things coming in a few months but I have most of it put together and I can probably field a Battalion worth of stuff at the moment. I still need to put together my motorcycles. But the infantry, AT rifles, AT guns, Arty, AA, Heavy AA and Heavy AT are in and put together.
If it weren't for this move, I could seriously get to basing them and priming them and painting them. Luckily, once we move I will have a lot of down time to make this army look better than anything I have done before.
Should be a lot of fun.
Bill and Ben, if you are going to play around 600 points. My advice is to train with standard infantry, HMG's, bazooka's, AT rifles, lt mortars and possibly mortars. Working with smoke and without.
Setup some interlocking defensive lines. With HMG's supporting infantry. Also setup some lines in a woods. This is different because the attacker gets first shot as he moves forward. The best thing about defending in woods is the 6" visibility rule, such that you can setup your second line of defense within 6" of the front of the bases of your front line. This means the attacker cannot shoot the back line or pin them. Then when he assaults the front line he gets within 4" of the second platoon and they get to fire defensive fire with the front line. Quite brutal and letha.

All,
The original time was going to be 1000, but a work conflict has adjusted that time. The new time is most likely going to be 16-1700 hrs with the offical time being posted either tonight or tomorrow. The players currently are Bill fielding Americans (Mech Inf) and Ben fielding Italians (parachutisti). If you would like to join us, please calll 710-4918 and ask for Bill. The current point spread is looking like 600 for short and cut-throat battles. This can be changed on the number of players and force sizes.
V/R
Bill
