I'd use either med FoW or Large FoW bases.....or you could put 2 on a GW medium square base and use movement trays....

Thanks, I thought about that, but they are not 15mm as you know. They are 25mm. So I could probabaly get 4 to a base, and for the large bases, artillery would suit it, thanks tabor!

yeah I think even with the scale increase, the fact that the units are in a tighter formation would make the med bases more viable....

Yeah, it would really show the style that the formations were in. But for RRTF you base 4 to a base. With each figure representing 15-30 men. So, I dont know how many I should put on a base, they say 4, but the flames of war bases are bigger....

Evan, I have played with guys that had 6-8 figs to a base. They thought it was easier to move figs. Doesn't really matter.

OK!

I would probably like them better that way, leaves a base a little to bare for me. That would just usually mean fewer bases correct?

Most had 3-4 Regiments per Battalion. 2-4 Battalions to a Division. These got smaller as the war went on. Sometimes it depended on the size of the units left in action. Some Regiments ended up with as few as 50-100 men left after a campaign season.

Okay, because the battle that me and you played had no where near as many bases as you said for a small divisianal battle.

We had 12 Regiments each, plus artillery for a solid Division on each side. You sent a Battalion over the right hill, one battalion up the middle and one battalion to the stone wall. I refused the stone wall flank and attacked your middle and the hill.

Not for a 1863 battle. Losses had taken there toll by then.
