Yeah...
So I had intended to make a cool write-up for the tournament results from the New Year's Eve 40K tourney. I even have a stack of notes on the various games sitting right here next to me as I type. To be real honest, however, whatever Muse that usually whispers in my ear has momentarily deserted me (I get the feeling she has been playing hooky to stay home and play more WoW) and I just keep drawing blanks. So stay tuned and I will try to get a write-up available. Till then, I am just going to get the results up.
We had six players turn out for a quick and dirty tournament and we all had a blast. The overall winner was Jeff Sagen and his Imperial Guard detachment, while Kevin Hills new Rainbow Warrior Space Marines walked away with the prize for best appearance.
It was fun, and I hope that I will see all of you at the next tourney!

I was hoping that you would put up the results of all players and what they scored for points in each catagory and games 1-3 as well as what forces were present. For those players that like the competetive side of the game knowing where they stand compared to the winners can only give them an idea of what aspect of the hobby that they can focus their efforts on for future tournaments. Other than the enjoyment of playing in the tournament those people that did not win a prize, this information is likey the only information that they can take home from it.
For those of us that were not able to come, or are looking to find out what force we might want to buy or be prepared to compete against, viewing a more complete analysis of the event is very important. And having the posts up timely gives feed back when the games are still fresh in the memories of those involved.
This is also a problem with most of the venues in this town who run tournaments and it would be nice to see Merlyn's be a step ahead of the competition in running its tournaments. I appreciate that you are running the tournaements and other evenets that you are, I just think that they can be improved to where you might get more than 6 people participating at each one by catering a little bit more to those that are looking to COMPETE against the best that a store can develpe and produce. That is what a tournament is for, the judging, scoring and awards support overall COMPETION, not just fun, although if you and your opponent are not having fun it is not worth competing.
Enough said.

Actually, if you take a look at the old website, you'll see that I have always been in the habit of posting a complete spreadsheet with all of the round scores, sportsmanship scores, etc. The problem that I have run into is that I have not been able to get the Excel document to transfer correctly into the forums... so after fighting with this for about two weeks, I have decided to just do this the ugly way...
Players
Kevin Hills - Rainbow Warriors
Jeff Sagen - Imperial Guard
Chris Wilkening - Blood Angels
Steve Harris - Black Templar
James Quinton - Sisters of Battle
Jed Duty - Deathwing
Round 1
Kevin - 10; Sportsmanship - 10
Jeff - 20; Sportsmanship - 10
Chris - 13; Sportsmanship - 9
Steve - 6; Sportsmanship - 10
James - 5; Sportsmanship - 6
Jed Duty - 20; Sportsmanship - 8
Round 2
Kevin - 18; Sportsmanship - 10
Jeff - 18; Sportsmanship - 10
Chris - 20; Sportsmanship - 9
Steve - 6; Sportsmanship - 9
James - 6; Sportsmanship - 10
Jed - 6; Sportsmanship - 10
Round 3
Kevin - 10; Sportsmanship - 10
Jeff - 17; Sportsmanship - 8
Chris - 6; Sportsmanship - 10
Steve - 20; Sportsmanship - 10
James - 6; Sportsmanship - 10
Jed - 10; Sportsmanship - 10
Composition
Kevin - 10
Jeff - 8
Chris - 16
Steve - 14
James - 12
Jed - 14
Total
Kevin - 78
Jeff - 91
Chris - 83
Steve - 75
James - 55
Jed - 78
Appearance (Seperate Scoring)
Kevin - 20 + 4
Jeff - 16
Chris - 8
Steve - 10
James - 8
Jed - 20 + 2
Hope this helps the "competitive" element.
