I have posted a scenario for Russias Southern Front on the Seattle groups yahoo site. I designed this for Pauls Rumanians. Could be interesting.

Curse him, I would love to play that one. Either as Germans or Soviets.

I would play LAH as Germans or 5th Airborne Brigade as Soviets. My Soviets are currently modeled after 5th Airborne for EW. They escaped three encirclements along with the 87th Rifle Division. Co of the 87th was killed in the first few days, so a Major from 5th Airborne took command of both units.

That young Major was Rodimtsev one of the key commanders in the entire Soviet Army. He also was in Spain, Poland and the Winter War as well as being at Stalingrad when the 87th became the 13th Guards and then lost 97% casualties while holding back the German final push to the Volga.

oh well, if Paul won't bring his Romanians to Spokane, I guess we will have to do with out.

Perhaps we could get an Italian player to take his place?

Anything I need to pickup for my EW Germans, besides more pz 35's and 38's?

I was quite surprised to find I had everything but Diana's and Pzjgr 1's. I know I need more of everything. But the mixed panzer platoon and company looks very right for fall of 41 in Russia.

The reading I was doing on 6th Panzer Division showed they had bits and pieces of every kind of tank in their companies. Even pz 35's as of December 41.

No problem. I picked up the last pz 35 and 38 they had at Merlyn's today. So I now have 18 EW panzers. 2 EW stugs and 7 221/222 and 2 8rad and an 8rad radio. Plus lots of HT AA. Plus I have my Motorcycle company, grenadier company or motorized company and some pzgrens.

sounds like a job for either Guderian(the master) or the LAH(fearless). I will do my best to emulate either one.

EW doesn't have rules for SS in EW. They probably shouldn't be the same as MW. Not sure how I would play them tho. I would say allow CO or 2iC to give the rerolls to any platoon within command distance. Kind of like the version 1 rules. Pay a 50 pt upgrade for each one like a warrior.

Can I have Otto Carius in one of my pz 38's?

Yes, Otto is a must. You may need to sacrifice a goat to the gods also. As they said in the arena, For those who are about to die, we salute you! Best get your things in order and write all your relatives, this will tax you.

I like it already. If I really want a test, we should get Sean Curl to play the other side. He is ruthless with the Soviets. Or, you could raise the red flag 'cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war.'
