Hi All,

I have been asked to give a FoW demo by some friends of mine. Instead of limiting it to just them. Two new players with the beginnings of their own armies (US Armor N. Africa and Italians), Bill and Ben.

I thought I would check to see if there is any more interest out there in seeing a demo of the rules as well as participating in some Demo Games. I will be bringing my German and Soviet armies.

I hope any of the current players that can will show up and just play some open games and answer questions for new players if possible.

I have already gotten permission from the Wife and Kids and should be able to make it. My wife works Friday night and is sleeping all day Saturday so I won't be needed. My eldest daughter got in trouble so is grounded for a month. Nothing serious, just lying and getting caught redhanded when the Police called for us to pick her up at 2 a.m. in CDA, when she was supposed to be in bed in Athol. Hmmmm. Lied, got caught, pay the price. Lose chance to do it again any time in the foreseeable future.

I should be there. Besdies, I am bringing two new players with me, and they have already started buying and painting armies. US and Italian.

Yeah, I talked with those people, they work at the red lion hotel right. Nice guys, I talked to them while they were looking at flames of war stuff.

sounds like them. They have had my mini rulebook since this summer. They both bought Afrika. I have played other games with them and their friends. Axis and Allies, Junta, some card games. Great group of guys. Hope they all get hooked into FoW.

I am also trying to get others interested. I was asked to do a private demo but thought it would be better at Merlyn's and with more people involved. Every bit of help from existing players and other insights than my own can help new players understand the game easier and have fun faster.

i dont know if i could help at all but if i could tell me. and double check to make sure you can go saturday. will we play any regular games.

you can help, just by being there. Regular games will be played. I will run the new players thru some skirmishes and hopefully they will play a very small game after that and get a chance to watch some of you play a game or to participate in a big game using a few small forces each.

Say I field 2000 points of German Infantry vs. Your US Infantry. I will let one of the newbies control an infantry platoon, an AT unit and the two stugs. Getting a feel for all of the nuances. Or just have them control a single unit. Whatever they think they can handle. Do so on multiple maps with a bunch of players. I will play if I feel upto it, or better yet coach the new players thru a complete game or help you guys coach them thru a game or two.
