Hey Chris,
No problems. BF Chris didn't make any promises to me, so I'm not worried. I think BF can do whatever they want and we have to do the best we can to run our own events. If they help us, it's their choice. I do think the "secret" policy is when they have stuff, they give it to the accounts that sell the most. But this is standard in our "dog eat dog" world. The only thing we can do is make Merlyn's one of their better accounts. I'll do my best. And regardless, I appreciate your help with everything. I think the best I can do is get more, new people into the game through my store. If I sell more, I get more "goodies" from BF.
See ya soon

John,
sad but true, the rich get richer. The big guy gets the toy and the little guy gets sand kicked in his face.
Unfortunately, this is bad business. The big guy should get some toys, but not all the toys. Small shops like yours should get a small toy periodically to keep your interest going.
The texas event had over $500 in donated prizes plus prizes raised from entry fees. They had 22 players. We had 12 and didn't get squat. The reason is they favor the bigger shops?
I can see how he wouldn't want to Give Merlyn's prize support and not then give it to the other shops in town. Yet only Merlyn's ran a Regional Qualifier that actually worked. Yet still no love.
Just seems backwards to me. I know I wouldn't do it that way. Yet, you and I have already talked about how things would be different if?
Sorry I couldn't be of any help. BF USA does not want to share its secrets. It merely wants us to buy its product blindly and never to expect love in return. Unless of course we are rich customers, then thats different. We might be worthy of notice then.
Chris

Good work, keep bringing your friends by and showing them how fun the game is. It really sales it self after that. Hopefully I can get free sometime this week to play.

Thanks for your effort on this Chris. Don't what the criteria are to obtain prize support. Hopefully you'll hear something from the Big Dogs soon.

I don't know the exact criteria, but I am sure it is tied to numbers in the event and total sales for the store or stores that are sponsoring the event. Plus some bonus goodies if a BF USA rep shows up the day of the event.
Chris said he gave away a FE book at the WCP as a bonus goodie because he showed up. But several stores pitched in to provide prize support. So they kinda clubbed together their total sales to help the kitty grow. Plus the WCP event is huge 50+.
Chris at BF USA did tell me he is going to Oroboro for the event. So you already have a plus there. Now if you could get several of the local stores to cosponsor the event you might have a chance at receiving prize support.
Good Luck, still not sure if I can make it or not. I am currently painting Cavalry units and customizing some of them just in case I get to go.

If Chris is there he'll have his KV-1s (s or e, don't know)
Food for thought.
