Congratulations to Derek and his Khador force for winning the tourney on Saturday after going undefeated! In retrospect, I wonder if Vlad had line of sight to charge Feora during that pivotal turn in our game? Wasn't he on the other side of the hill? Great game though and you probably would have won anyway.
Big thanks to Merlyns and Josh for hosting the tournament. Let's have another one in the near future.
Thank you to everyone who showed up. 6 players for a first tournament is definitely not a bad showing and I hope we can draw more for the next one and have everyone stay 'til the end. I had lots of fun playing different players and army lists and it was cool to play against my own faction. Sean, you played really well for someone who never played the game before. I'm glad you particpated!

Thanks again to everyone for coming out. I had a blast. We could have had a couple more players but I found out they thought it was on Sunday so got the wrong day off from work. They said they'd be down for the next one.
To everyone who played and anyone else reading this post, let me know if you're interested in participating in a Warmachine league. I'll step up and handle the administrative stuff. Email me at r166_2000 @ yahoo.com. I'd like to get something up and running in the next couple of weeks.

I don't remember exactly, but I thought what happened was Vlad had Blood of Kings up, which extends his move to 10" which got me over that hill that was only about 7" deep.
Regardless, I had a great time! Thanks to all who participated!

Blood of Kings extends his move but one still must have line of sight to charge. If you simply "walked" forward and bumped into Feora and wailed on her then that's totally kosher.
It's like Dennis moving his knights into my trencher smoke...
Knight Exemplar: "Cough*Cough* Holy crap! a trencher...guess I'll smash him into paste."
Trencher: "Owww! the pain!!!!"

@andvari101 - I can't remember if you just advanced the 10" or charged. Feora probably wouldn't have survived either way without any focus on her. Sorry, I just like to dwell on my mistakes so I can improve my gameplay. Hope you don't mind!
@edoublea - Your Darius list is killer, especially for the pendulum scenario! But I figured out a way to beat it with that same Feora list I used. I hope I'll get to try my newfound tactics against your list sometime.
I'm up for a Warmachine league! My only challenge is that I won't be in town on a regular basis this fall.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure I walked up instead of charging. After that embarassing 'cheat' for the win against r166 two weekends ago, I've been trying doubly hard to check my LOS before charges
I'd love to give you plenty of opportunity to test tactics against Khador as well However, my current feeling is that Vlad has now won a tourney, so it's time to put him on a shelf for awhile and learn a new caster. I'm thinking Irusk or the Old Witch will be next to get alot of play time.

Heck yeah! I'm still figuring out that Darius list myself. Definately up for a rematch.

I posted on the nw gamers site just to grab some more people. I put a shout out to see if anyone was free this Sunday to meet up at Merlyns for a game or two and discuss some options for a league set up.

I had a good time, sorry I had to leave early. What time are you getting together on Sunday? I have to work at 4, but I could probably be there for a while.

For anyone interested, there's an exhibition day/evening planned for Sunday, Oct 1st to kick off our league play. Stay tuned for more details.
Although there's a lot of chatter about this on a different forum, it looks like Merlyns will be our inaugural location to kick things off.
