Exactly what the title says. How are we going to get everyone together now that the school year has started?
Are we going to try for weekends? One night a week?
I have Sunday afternoons already taken and cannot change that. Other than that I am open most of the time with enough lead time I can make it work.
I would hate to see our numbers drop or our frequency of gaming. It is really important to keep playing in numbers to help attract more players.
Saturday seems like the logical choice, but I do not know Merlyn's normal weekend schedule and if a FoW day on Saturday would conflict. I do know that Friday night is usually Magic card game night with lots of players.
Lets start planning this so we can get together.

Saturdays are very hit and miss for me. Means I travel my wife wants me around on weekends. Years ago, we used to game on Thursday evening, from 5 to 9. That would still work well for me. I know weekdays are hard for guys in school. I could game on Thursdays and occasionally on Saturday, but Saturday would be rare. Terry

Lets wait for the school boyz to weigh in. We can see what day of the week they could possibly play on evenings. Or if Saturday will work. I will ask my regular group on Sundays if they want to reschedule to Thursday nights. I will ask my daughters if they don't mind.
I have ongoing roleplaying campaigns every Sunday. During the summer we played either Thursday night or Sunday afternoon depending on work/training schedules of some of the older players.
Terry, you do have midweek time available for get togethers to play and to go over the up coming tournament?

Chris, Yes, I plan to work on the tourny this week. We need a score sheet with enough copies for the 3 games. Still need more of an idea who is coming. Maybe the 7-8 players we know are the only ones. Did you go to the Hobby Town tourny? How many players? I see Sean Cruz from Seattle won with germans I think. Sounds like he depends on his air. Read his write up on yahoo groups washington. By rule this is are one and only chance at this. I guess we will see.

Chris and Terry,
You are right, we need to figure this out. I know that me being in High School now, the weekdays wont work, unless maybe being friday night. Weekends would be ok, but maybe not for others(Evan, Taber, and Sean). But as a warning, I may not be able to make some days due to homework and grounding cause of grades and stuff<---ha ha. And for Terry, I was wondering if its legal to have two heros in one army???
hope we can work this out,
Jeremiah

Terry,
I was unable to make the Hobbytown Tournament, just not upto travelling that day. Right now I feel pretty good and should be able to do somethings next week.
This Sunday I will be hosting my weekly/every other week roleplaying day. Sometimes I GM, sometimes I play depending on how I feel. We will talk about rescheduling our get togethers to Thursday evenings. That way Sunday will be a good possibility.
Jeremiah, I will give you fair warning right now. Keep your grades up first, before coming to play. I won't even let my own daughters roleplay unless their grades are where they should be. The same goes for my nephew. So always remember, work hard and play hard. Its more fun that way.
Infantry sure seem to be very hard to deal with when there is enough terrain on a map and you don't play FFA every battle.
I just put together my 4 85/obr 38 AA guns for my Soviet Tank/Mech/Motorized units. They look sweet. I will have to base them tomorrow and then prime them Saturday. Hopefully, they will be ready by next week.
Terry, I should be able to meet up with you any time during the week. Just let me know when you want to get together. Once we go over a few things I can get busy typing and printing out score sheets, rules, oob's, etc. Depending on numbers of entrants, I will either participate or judge. Not both.

Anytime during the week is ok for me (since Im a senior and have very very easy classes). I wouldnt like to play on Friday though due to the fact I play 40k at Hobbytown on Fridays.
@ Terry
Sean Cruz only won because he had 1.5 pts more than me, and that was because of his painting. I dont like to be rude, but its the truth.

He won because of painting. Wow, that must have been a very nicely painted army. So you got second place then? What is rude about saying he had a higher painting score?
Is Sunday afternoon going to work for most people?
Although I wouldn't mind some mid week action periodically as well.

Sean, See I am an old time gamer and think winning should be decided on the table not in someones skill in painting. Same thing happened at Origins and the best general was not the overall winner. If you can beat me with figures mounted on stands and not painted, you are the best general in my book. Pretty is nice, but only holds so much sway with me.
Jeremiah, Only one hero per army.
Chris, I will talk to you when I get back from my work week.

Jeremiah,
Actually, only the DAK can field two heroes in the same force I think. They can field Rettemeier and Rommel. Under version 2, I am not sure for the Americans. I know under version 1 it was possible, but I think they changed some of the rules to avoid that.
Most of the heroes/characters can only be fielded with a certain type of force. Armored/Armored Infantry/Infantry/Recon/Engineers/Rangers etc. So reread the section on the particular hero/heroes you want to field and see if it has a limitation.
Terry, I am with you and feel the overall winner should be the best general, and the soft scores should only be used for their own categories. But, BF wants the tournaments run the way they are for the exact opposite reasoning. They want the soft scores to be more important. From what I can deduce, it was decided to go this way to keep the tournaments more friendly. Unfortunately, their scoring system has allowed some very bad manipulation of sportsmanship scores to throw off most overall tournament results. If you can nerf all your opponents in sportsmanship, then you have a better chance overall. A main reason I am wanting to not use the BF sportsmanship scoring.
I myself prefer an up/down winners bracket. Winner plays winner until only a single undefeated player is left. That is your Best General. Have a Painting competition with the history part as a tie breaker and that is another award. Keep the sportsmanship scores as we have discussed and that is best overall Sportsman. Three awards, all figured separately. Everyone knows where they stand at the end of the day.
Unfortunately, we must use the BF scoring system if we want to be a qualifier. Since we argued hard and loud for that chance, now we have to carry it out. The lucky thing is, we have a club (Gamersnorth) so we can hold another qualifier separate from Merlyn's in the spring or winter. So we can use this tournament as a test run and try to run a bigger one in 3-6 months from now.
Hopefully garnering a bigger crowd and using some lessons learned to make it a much better experience for everyone.
Chris

So... As far as game days go, should we play on Sundays?
