Chris, I just reread the Origins 2007 write up on there site and they say it is a" LATE WAR TOURNY". This would indicate to me that they want late war qualifiers. A winner of a mid-war tourny may not even have a late war army. Just a thought. I would imagine that they could tell us if that is there goal.

I do not know at this time. JP has already said that Qualifiers can be held using any of the ERA's. EW, MW or LW. If a person qualifies and doesn't have a LW army to play then I guess they don't get to go. Yet another marketing move to force players to not only qualify, but to buy a LW army if you want to be included in the Origins event.

Makes me think the boycot idea wasn't that far off. Oh well, BF is a miniatures company so its not surprising they make every move with the overall goal of selling more miniatures.

Whatever they decide it won't affect me and the area players here. We still need to get better organized. We need to work with Merlyn's and the other game stores to build the customer base and have more events(single game days, demonstrations and tournaments).

I will do the legwork to see what is needed for a true qualifier. I do not like the current points system used by BF. We may want to look at that as a group and see what needs to be adjusted to fit our area.

So far, I like the fact that we are getting more interest locally and from the surrounding area. I hope we can maintain the momentum once summer ends. It will change our gaming days a bit. I expect a small falloff during the school year, but if we adjust for it, I doubt it will pose much of a problem.

Terry and everyone else here at the Merlyn's FoW site,

I just registered to be an official host of Qualifiers. I used the Gamersnorth website as our official name and way to contact us.

We will need to get as many FoW players as we can to register at that website and give their Name, age, armies, contact info if they want, so I can use that to validate any future official BF functions we run. Either by ourselves or in conjunction with the wonderful people here at Merlyn's or elsewhere locally.

Chris
