If we do play next week, I dont think that i will be able to pick up my panzer IV f2 in time. But are you talking about the week of the 24th or the week after the 24th? If I cant get the tank, I will use the list i used last time. That is if you dont already have plans....

I am working on weapons bunkers at the moment and hope to have 6-8 of them done by the 1st. I also hope to have the basics of the coastal fort done as well.

Hobbytown Wed. 26th 5 pm is cancelled. Tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday the 25th at noon. This is not confirmed yet for me and three other players. Just the Hobbytown group say they are playing at this time.

Not to be a pain, but these forums are for Merlyn's customers and Merlyn's events. It's a lot of work and we don't really want to push other stores and their events at our site.

Chris, Thats been the history of any one who says they are going to play past 7pm at Hobby Town. I was just told they are not going to re-order stock as it is sold because sales are down and they have so much money tied up in stock!! So I don't know really whats up at Hobby Town. I guess we will see. Terry

I apologize, I don't push other stores, just trying to let people know where the game is being played. Some people have driving issues or personality issues and can't or won't go to certain stores. I hadn't realized the rivalry for customers was that intense in Spokane.

I live in Post Falls and the extra drive time for me to go to the Y is a pain. Both figuratively and literally. I would prefer playing at Merlyn's, but sometimes that is not a possibility.

I am sorry if you feel that an announcement of a possible game that is not going to take place in your store, makes you feel like it is stealing from your customer base. Because that is not at all what I am trying to do.

That is quite the opposite in fact. I had a great time at Merlyn's last Thursday and hope to do so again in a week and a half. However, some of the players that I played with seem to only frequent this website. I have no other place to contact them.

Perhaps an alternate website for the gamers and not associated with any single store is the answer. I am loathe to do this at this time as that truly takes customers off your site. But if you feel offended or threatened in any way then I will do my best to avoid that in the future.

Hopefully we can bring a big enough of a player base together and start truly growing the FoW game. Which of course means more sales and events for Merlyn's. As Terry posted on another site, the possibility of hosting a Regional qualifier at Merlyn's is probably the best idea at this time.

As a group of gamers, the dilution of the market in Spokane has also led to the dilution of the player group. Not enough regular players means lagging sales and lagging interest. Get a large enough group playing and you drive up interest and sales. Not just at a single store, but at all the stores.

I could easily buy all of my models and supplies online, but I choose to support the local stores because you guys are the reason we can play this game in a great environment. I wouldn't change that.

But I also want a chance to get gamers from the different stores together, so we can get larger gatherings. More people at each store each time we play. That is good for all of us.

No problem Chris. I have not met you yet, and just wanted to make sure that you know our feelings on the web site. I've been in the biz for 25 years and seen other stores come and go. Things are really tough and I plan on supporting our industry regardless of the difficulties. One problem now is that there are not enough gamers to keep 5 stores going in this area. Other stores have tried to beat us up, so I have this site for our Merlyn's supporters. If you have another site to do your thing, I have no problems. Regardless, keep me posted and come in sometime and we can say hi.

Gentlemen, Excellent exchange. I think we can all work together to make a better FOW group and improve sales and survivability of a supportive store. Thanks Chris for a good idea and thanks John for your open mindedness and wanting to see the hobby supported. That is why we support you. Local support is key to our hobby.

Tuesday at noon cancelled, Wed at noon now on at the Y. Next week we will all meet up at Merlyn's hopefully for a Bunker and Fortification demonstration.
