Ok some questions for you Mike:
In the Lower division, do we get the free skill after our first game?
What are the rules about who we play and how often we play them?
Do we get the +2 to winnings like in the Upper division?
How many games are we allowed?

I know you and I talked about this stuff sometime but I forgot and now I can't find anything about the lower division in the threads, so I just made a new thread to make it easy on me.

I want to weigh in before anything is decided for sure.

I'd say definately since these teams can be elevated in future seasons.

Here is my thoughts:

Free Skill?
No, that was for Inaugural season teams only (OK, really just for simplicity sake, and allows for LESS special rules)


Who to play & how often?
I'd say free for all. With no cap on how many games or how many vs one coach, just max 2 in a row vs the same coach (allows one evenings play, 4-6 hrs). **** Also keep in mind that you may be hard pressed to find opponents if you play 30 games, cause when everyone else is at 3 to 5 games, no-one wants slaughtered****


Extra Winnings? No standard rate, as there are potentially unlimited games, these teams have the ability to catch up easily.


Maximum Games? No maximum. See above. Also, The no maiximum is what the PBBL is for, to balance perpetual league play, so that new teams can join in at any time, and not get slaughtered so you have to start a new team all the time.

Anyways, those were my thoughts, open for discussion.

I figured those would be the best as the only modification to the straight rulebook would be the addition of the 2 optional rules, cards & mvps. That way if (for eg) the Uncle's League guys wanted to join in, there would be a nice easy transition to a standard rules set.

Ok, What does everybody think about bringing in old teams, converting them to Team Value, and allowing them in the lower division, but not being able to join the playoffs for a season or 2. I know no-one without a high value team wouldn't be interested but, who knows? (also I think there are only a couple of us with old teams like this)

I found one of my classic teams and was curious if anyone was interested in getting in a match against them

The Lynched Mob: TV 2,330,000 (with 260 treasury and 100 banked)
They are old school undead so have "grandfathered in 2 wights

They have 2 Championship trophies, but have not played since they lost in their third consecutive finals vs an Amazon team.

Any takers, and I'll also keep hunting down my other old school favorites such as the Ironskull Juggernauts (dwarf), E. C.O.L.I. (Chaos), and The Furfoot Dinnertrain (Halfling).

I'm fine with those suggestions. It would be easier for the website if I didn't have to modify by hand some players anyways. There's an Uncle's League? How many coaches do they have?

As for old teams... hmmm... I don't think I'd take you up on your offer to play them until my TV was in the same ballpark. But I don't see the harm in letting them join the league. Except that it would goof with the stats. Hmmm... I might vote no based on that alone. One of my favorite things about Blood Bowl is keeping track of the TDs, the CAS, and all that fun stuff. Hence why I maintain the website, even if I was the only person interested, I'd probably still maintain it. Bringing in a team that starts with massive skills throws a wrench into the system. It throws everything off. Perhaps when a few teams break the 200TV barrier, I'd say go ahead, until then, I'd say no.

I like the idea of playing the old teams with the new rules, but I have to agree with Gremdel about keeping track of things. I think we should wait till season 3 or 4 before adding in the old high-TV teams into play.

Which I found my old norse team that Ron beat the snot out of constantly, so Mike if you wanted to play a game against them I would be happy to convert it into the new rules. Though it has 4 blitzers, the new rules say 2 blitzers and 2 Ulfwerer, I don't know we would handle that.

EDIT: Checking up on my old Norse guys, the team has a Minotaur and the new rules don't let Norse have one, would I still have him or would he be converted into a Snow Troll?

Normally grandfathered teams are ok to use, but with a few limitations.
1st they keep their roster the way it is, players don't magically change positions.
2nd you can't get a new position player off of the new roster until one that is now illegal is dead or fired. They also must be of the same type (big guy for big buy) So you couldn't get any of the ulf's or snow trolls till the blitzers or mino disappears for what ever reason.

Yeah waiting to have them join is probably the best Idea.
Sean what is the second league option? Would that allow us to keep the stats seperate.

Hmmm... 2nd League... I guess. Haven't tried it, don't know what it does. I'm sure it will keep the stats seperate, the question is will it work?

Mike or Sean can you input that I played a game with my lower division team against Garricks upper division team(the Firelizards) please? I would like to report it. Also I am scheduled to play a game with my lower division guys against Jays upper division team(his wood elves) and then Adams upper division team(the soul assassins) as well. Thanks.

Boy, busy guy. The Fire Lizard game was entered as a Week 7 game, the other two as Week 8.

Mike, we need to get Week 6 up to date. We've got three games to verify:
--DAMM vs. Fire Lizards (did it happen?)
--Soul Assassians vs. Clan (did it happen?)
--Xlan vs. Suicide (need to update Eric's half before we verify)

Since I never had a bye during the season, I feel like I should have to forfeit one of my 4 extra games. It wouldn't be fair if I had a game more than most other players. So I've got two games left on the regular season, one is to beat Matt, but the other one is up for grabs (except Matt and Eric)!

My wife is gone all day Friday and I have it off. So Friday is good. What time did you want to play? We could probably even play a Lower Division and an Upper Division game if you're up to it. If not Friday... Thursday at 12pm. Or all day Saturday.

erics half is now updated, and I think both the other games have not occured yet, will get on them.

As for not getting a bye it was completely random so don't feel that you need to give up a game to be fair, random is random and if the inducements work correctly, your one extra game shouldn't mean much, and could possibly hurt more than it helps.
