No rifled muskets. All smooth bores. So short range. Deadly close in. More chance of melee. No rifled artillery. Alot of smaller smooth bore artillery and guard have 12 pounders. Standard french piece was a 8 pounder and horse used a 4-6 pound piece. So artillery is lighter with shorter range. Cav stayed the same except no rifles or shot guns. They are pure cavalry ment to charge home, not dismount and fire. Very few skirmishers in Napy wars. Mostly lines or columns advancing. Thats a few of the differences

But dont you think that cavalry should be more deadly? Or is it already deadly enough?
Thanks!

Cavalry was only deadly against each other and routed infantry. The defense against cavalry was the square. This is shoulder to shoulder infantry in 3 to 4 ranks kneeling and standing with bayonets pointing out. Back ranks fired over the top. Squares would slaughter cavalry and horses wouldn't charge a solid wall of men. Cavalry worked the flanks and tried to find infantry out in the open, not in square.

I have played the demo missions multiple times, and am gong to buy the game brand new off of ebay. For only like 10 bucks!
I love the game, except the morale sucks in the game, and the game overall is not super realistic, but pretty close.
