Greetings! I've played in and GM'd multiple game systems for about 2 decades, and am seeking a few players for a 4.0 rules D&D game. My girlfriend, after a few years of being stubborn, has discovered she enjoys learning to play, and I have a few friends who also play, although it's been difficult to get everyone together sometimes. I run in the Eberron Setting, with some minor House Rules, mainly to help speed up the flow of combat.
I'm looking for a few people who can commit to 2-4 weekends a month, depending on everyone's schedule, to round out our group and help add some stability to the storyline. We'd prefer people who have not had a lot of experience with the 4.0 rules, so no one feels like they're being left behind; I'd also prefer to GM for people I've not had an opportunity to game with before.

About me/us:
My current players are learning to roleplay for the first time with the exception of one besides myself. The 4.0 Rules are fairly new to me, but completely new to all of them.
I've GM'd D&D since 2nd addition (AD&D), as well as games like Paranoia, Traveller, Prime Directive, and Alternity, to name a few. I started gaming around 1989, and have been a GM for almost as long.
Friday nights, anytime Saturday, or Sunday afternoons are the days and times we're looking to play each week, and are willing to shift around a bit depending on the needs of everyone involved. We'd like to play at least 2 weekends a month.
I'm hoping to be able to hold a stable game group so that the story continues to develop, with players running only 1 character at a time, although having several characters to switch between for different adventures is perfectly fine with me within reason. I enjoy using the interests of the players to move the Campaign forward, which is much easier to do if people are playing in character and not worrying about multiple personalities.

About you:
Unfortunately, being a gamer myself and knowing some of you don't respond well to hints, I have to play the hygene card here. So if your idea of regularly showering involves standing outside waiting for rain, you won't fit with us. Smokers don't bother us, most of my group does, but we do ask that you do so outside, and we will take breaks for this.
Transportation is your responsibility. We live in the Shadle area between two bus lines if you don't have your own personal transportation, so it's pretty easy to get here. We don't mind helping a friend out now and then, but you should be able to provide your own.
If you game for the following themes/reasons, you probably won't fit well with us:
- Domination of fellow gamers. We all get along as friends, and we're looking to add another!
-D&D is more important than the Real World. We all work for a living and play just for fun.
-Graphic "Adult" situations. While I'm all for a Romantic interlude in a story, we're not interested in delving into details.
-Power/Munchkin Gaming. You will not find any +37 2-Handed Swords of Vanquishing Everything in the Cosmos here.

Weekends are bad for me but if anything pops up on a week night I'd be interested

Unfortunately, my group has members who work weeknights. I also work in a dangerous job I prefer to get plenty of weekday rest for. So I'm firmly committed to friday night through Sunday afternoons.

So we're still looking for one to two members to join in. Please leave a message if you are interested and call, or drop me an email and I'll get back to you as soon as I can with details.

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to the ad here or on Merlyn's bulletin board; we've found 2 great players who had a ton of fun our first adventure together! It's possible we could still use one more player if there's still some interest, we're planning to mainly play friday nights starting at 7 pm, most likely 3 nights a month at least.

We now have a very fun and well established core group of 4 players (2 guys, 2 girls) not including the GM. We play nearly every friday night from @ 7 p.m. until 11 or even later. Characters are @ 4-6th level, and we'll soon be adding a 2nd character to everyone to be able to mix and match a bit without disrupting the game.
In addition to the main adventure we're developing, there are multiple side plots driven by each of the characters so far, so there's been plenty of options for roleplay and exploring.
We do have another player who hasn't been able to come as often as we meet, which tends to throw things out of whack every now and then, and they're possibly moving out of town. Whether he does or not, we are currently looking for one more player!
