Hi all,

I'm a keen experienced gamer, particularly WFRP and D&D from early years. i started playing WFRP in the early 90s and have been playing and running games since. However I'm keen to try the new Version of the system, which i don't have yet....... i would be interested if anyone was running a game and needs a player.
I'm from Australia and have been to Spokane a few times as my wife works at WSU from time to time. I'm here for 2 months and would be keen to play a few games while here again, since you have a great shop and strong community here.

I'm an older player. (well not that old Smile "36")....and enjoy a serious but fun game environment.

any please feel free to contact me. let me know whats going on and if you have space for a free player

cheers

I wouldn't waste any money on the 3rd edition of WHFRP.

It basically just continues the D&D trend of dumbing everything down and making it more like a computer game than actual roleplay, giving people little cards for their abilities and talents as well as "character sheets" that are essentially a ripoff of World of Warcraft's user interface.

Plus, they removed halflings entirely!

All that with a whopping $100 price tag ($62.97 on Amazon.com) and it only comes with one set of their new custom numberless dice, so each player should be prepared to drop an extra $12 for that.

It's really just a sad attempt to follow D&D's new marketing strategy of appealing to the kiddies with fruit fly attention spans coming off of MMOs.

oh thats not good... i have read mixed reviews on the new system.

i have a large collection of v1 and a little of v2 and both those systems are easily converted.

interesting you mention D&D 4th ed being more like computer game. i think this is an pen and paper RPG trend with the prevalance of MMO type games, i guess the language of RPGs particualy pen and paper has changed a bit. sorta makes it feel a bit more rigid rules wize. i think pen and paper has always had the advantage of not being such a 'rules' game. still i wish FFG had an easy way you could convert between systems. and i might be more eager to by it.

still i'd like to see how it runs. i do like the idea of cards for skills etc even though you have to go out and get more if players have the same skills. in games where your constantly looking up skills and spells etc this can make things a lot easier to play the game.

One thing i hate the most is the whole idea of needing new dice just for the game. also i feel its a huge shame that there is now a huge separation between table top battle now and the WFRP where as before you could easily convert between the 2.

anyway if people are playing New system or old system i'd be interested.

cheers

john
