Hey guys, I thought up an all new and very easy to use campaign system for FoW I call "Easy Campaign Rules for FoW". I then put together a LW Italian Front campaign called Operation Olive. Check it out and let me know what you think:

Nationalities Involved:
US, British, German, New Zealand, Poland, South African, Indian, and even a Turkistani Division on the German side.

Files here:
www.box.net/shared/46hmrj0357

This is what the operational map looks like:

Great stuff Sean and I have been following it on the other site.

I probably won't be able to join the playtest group as we are in the process of possibly moving back up into the hills of N. Idaho. Which will take me off the broadband grid and put me back on 26.4 phone modem or not able to even upload the new FoW site or download any relevant information.

I have already let BF know that I am terminating playtest status and proofreader status due to things beyond my control.

This will also cause problems with me being able to make it to Spokane on a weekly basis as the drive distances will be tripled and thus not doable as often.

Have you looked at these new rules Ogre? I tossed out the complicated rules completly and started all over from scratch. I life these one so much better.

Sicily would be interesting. Can you find a web page that shows the different divisions used?

Yeah,

I have read the rules and even looked at the Division list. I like it alot. Allies had 16 Divisions Axis 11-13?

It would be fun to play the many different types of units involved and in the area we have all of them modelled except the Polish and Guards.

Yep, the Axis is outnumbered. Allies have 17 and Axis has 13. I expect the Germans to lose, but have a lot of fun trying. German goal is to hold the line. An astute Allied commander will try and create a hole in the German line and break out with the fast moving tank forces and wreak havok in the German rear. I would like to give this a try if others would like.

All I have now are Axis forces, who will play the Allies?

BtW, I will be there in just two weeks. Still dont have a place to live, but at least I will be there.

Sean,

lots of housing in Idaho. Smile and only 25 miles or so to Spokane. Plus the gas and taxes are lower.

I also may be moving within the next two weeks.

As for a campaign, we probably will need to do a MW version since most people here have MW armies.

There are a few of us with LW, but we are few and far between.

I updated both the campaign rules and the operation olive rules. Click the link at the top of the post to get the latest rules.

On Husky, thanks for the Wiki link. That is probably what I will use. The trick is to find out what company types were available to each division, thats harder to find. I have been looking around for a suitable image of Sicily that we can use and I think I found one. Once I get more put together I will post it all up and we can build the campaign together.

As for late war, you guys need to start getting more armies. Against all reason, I have found LW battles to be a lot more challenging and enjoyable than MW.

I have quite a few LW armies now. Panther Company, SS Tiger Company, Gren and pz Gren companies, aufklarungs and Pioneer.

Soviets I have Strelk and Motostrelk. I now also have some RSI stuff as well.

But then I am the exception so far. Sean Curl has LW Soviets. Taber has LW Germans. Terry Leaf has LW but he has been unable to play for awhile.

I would prefer doing a Eastern front campaign, it would allow me to play, cause I dislike my Germans. Smile

Umm... when is that new Soviet book and armor suppose to come out?
