Snake Oil is a new party game from Out of the Box games that has an appeal and game-play style very similar to the classic Apples to Apples.

As described on the back of the box:

"Believe you me folks, Snake Oil will cure your doldrums and have your friends and family rolling in laughter! Step right up and take home your very own copy of of Snake Oil today!

1. Choose one player to be the first 'Customer" and have that player pick a Customer Card.

2. The other players quickly combine two Word Cards from their hand to create something for the Customer.

3. Each player persuades the Customer that their item is the best. The Customer picks the one they like the most and that player wins the Customer Card!"

Customer cards represent some kind of role or job like Caveman, Gangster, Cheerleader, Dictator (as seen in the pic below), Babysitter or Rapper.

The person judging the round plays the part of the Customer Card they've drawn and the players competing that round play Word cards, usually two nouns, but I do recall a few adjective cards, that they combine. They then describe a product and how that product is perfect for the customer of that round.

So, for example, in the pictured cards above, the players above are trying to pick cards that combined make a great product for a Dictator, and then they make their sales pitch as to why this product is tailor-made for the customer. Will it be an Oil Machine, Beard Armor, Glitter Paint, or a Money House? Is one objectively better than the others or will the choice go to the best sales pitch?
