Anyone here play Castles and Crusades? I heard it's a rules lite version of D&D. Thinking of picking it up. Can anyone tell me more about it?

Well the wikipedia article on it and the company’s website made it look kinda cool.

Not that I'm really adding to the topic.

Er... so yeah. Very Happy

Where did you hear about it? This is the first I've seen of it.

I discovered it while browsing Amazon. It was listed as an alternative to D&D. I just started playing D&D again since the mid-80's and started out with the D&D Basic Set. I wanted a more in depth game, but nothing that's rules heavy. This game is touted as what D&D 3rd Edition should have been. Less on the rules and more on the gameplay. It looks pretty cool. Advanced D&D but simplified.

One other thing about C&C. This game originally began in the 70's by Gary Gygax and actually became D&D. Some of the modules for C&C actually borrow from the old World of Greyhawk campaign. Gygax is involved in the development of the this game. It uses the open game license from Wizards of the Coast to use their d20 system.
